It’s that time of year again when children and parents alike are struggling with the return to routine. Early starts, packed lunches, homework and after-school activities, a far cry from the lazy days of summer. What better way to brighten up your September than with a great day out for all the family?
St. Annin’s September Fest Fundraiser on this Sunday, September 10th promises to be a fun-filled event with something for everyone. As you enter the carpark at Killannin Community Centre and Pitches you will have the opportunity to view emergency services displays by the Gardaí, Army, Mountain Rescue, Civil Defence and Fire Brigade.
Inside the Community Centre a cuppa and delicious baking await while you browse the wide range of books, toys, handbags, and accessories on sale. As you make your way back to the pitch you’ll find more shopping opportunities at the stalls outside and don’t forget to say ‘Hello’ to the crew in the Galway Bay FM Baycaster who will be broadcasting live from 12pm.
Even more entertainment is to be found on the pitches. Any festival can have a bouncy castle or two but here you’ll find a bouncy castle village. The Family Skills Challenge will see the whole family competing together as a team in ten novel activities. For those who prefer to go it alone, there are two Individual Obstacle Courses. Corrib Athletic Club will be there too, with a range of races planned for different age groups.
After all that activity, you’re sure to need a delicious burger or sausage from the barbecue or a tasty treat from the tuck shop.
As if all that wasn’t enough, there’ll be face painting, hair do’s, and nail art and of course a raffle every hour with great prizes to be won.
This event is a fundraiser for I.T. equipment and other essential resources for St. Annin’s National School, Rosscahill. It’s all happening this Sunday from 12pm at Killannin Community Centre and Pitches. We look forward to seeing you there.
